Born and raised in Pinar de Rio Cuba and now based in Las Vegas, United States of America, Noybel Gorgoy is a gifted musician, singer-songwriter and pianist. Her sound is influenced by the Latin music owing to her Cuban roots. She has a track record of countless performances, touring around the world on grandeur platforms.
Noybel carries on her career with an aim of showcasing her culture on international platforms through her music.
Multi talented musician, singer-songwriter, entertainer, Noybel Gorgoy is an artist on a mission; to represent her ethnicity through her intense energy, musical diversity, and feminine allure.
Born and raised on the island of Cuba, Noybel credits her choice of genre to a land largely defined by its significant influence on the Latin Music industry. She draws her inspiration from her father, Mr. Noel Gorgoy, a top-notch songwriter and one of the pioneers of Nueva Trova Musical Genre in Pinar del Río.
Noybel’s first brush with the world of music was performing with Titirivida, a group she would later partake with in song creation for a record collaboration with Pinar Son, a popular Cuban music group. At the age of six, she had her first professional recording in the local Pinar del Río radio station. At seven, she joined the School of Music of Pinar del Río to study classical piano, musical theory and vocal training, later becoming part of the school female choir as one of the lead soloists.
Subsequently, she joined the National School of Music in Habana, delving into the theory and history of music, harmony, piano and vocal training. Afterwards she enrolled at Habana University of Music at nineteen. Her mission was simple; to expand her skill in classical vocal training and advanced musical theory. While there, she became part of a team of educators for the Middle- Level School of Pinar del Río, an opportunity that sharpened her skills as an independent musician.
Noybel was featured in the record “Calle 66 la Nueva Onda Cubana” and “Soy Latina”, records aimed at exposing young singers at the time. That did propel her career. She was invited to perform on Super 12, a television show presented by Gerardo Piloto, one of the best drummers in Cuba and director of the band, Klimax.
Noybel boasts of great musical experiences at a young age: an invite as a special guest for the first solo concerts of Leo Vera at the Amadeo Roldan Theatre; membership at the renown Cuban band, Azucar Negra; being part of the National and European Tour and Gorgoy; a feature in the “Sin mirar atras”, a recording released in 2004 and sharing a television show, 23 y M, with Leo Vera and Tania Pantoja to celebrate El Chispa y Los Complices, a famous band at that time among other experiences.
A budding young talented lady with broadening opportunities, Noybel would join “Azucar Band” in the summer of 2004, a well established group of musicians with an international music approach and unique taste of choreography. Thereafter, she became part of the Cuban Show, “Lady Salsa’, gaining a platform to showcase her musical and dancing skills on international stage.
In the winter of 2004, Noybel travelled to the United States of America as a cast member of the show, “Havana Night Show”, a cuban phenomenon presented by the international illusionists Siegfried and Roy.
The cast delivered performances in Seminole Hard Rock, Miami, and in Stardust Casino, Las Vegas, a production show residence. Due to their popularity, the group recorded the DVD and CD “Havana Night Club, Live in Miami”, and the CD, “Havana Night Chill” featuring Noybel’s vocals in the songs “I want to be free (Danza de un ave)” and “Freedom chill”.
She often assumed a backup role for various female dancers in the show. At the same time, Noybel was introduced and trained in the Speech Level Technique of Singing by Greg Enriquez, one of the most effective Vocal Technique Instructors in Las Vegas. All the while, she kept up with writing her own music and improving her dancing skills by incorporating ballet, modern dance, hip hop and Cuban folklore. These would later attribute to her improved stage presence and diversity as a singer.
After the closure of Havana Night Club, Noybel made performances in “Raw Talent Live”, acting, singing and dancing with a big snake; perform with headliner bands Michito Sanchez y su Salsa Orchestra, Vice Ganda and perform with artist Lani Misalucha. She also performed in various such as The House of Blues, Book and Stage, Django Vegas Festival 2011, NAMM Show 2012 in Los Angeles and at the Salsa Congress of Las Vegas.
Upon receiving her United States of America citizenship, she joined the Gypsy Jazz Band The Hot Club of Las Vegas whose band’s director remains the lead guitarist of the highly acclaimed and award winning production, Le Reve-The Dream as the lead singer, then co-created “Summer Score”, an album that was debuted at the Palms Hotel and Casino, amidst performances by Frankie Moreno and Phat Strand Strings.
At the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012, Noybel became part of PBS Special, “Benise Live in China” a show that emblazoned her alluring voice and dancing skills. In 2013, she was featured on the newest record of Michito Sanchez y su Salsa Orchestra in their song, “Let Me be the One”. It was also a time when she had the opportunity to work with the techno band, Soul in the Machine. Together they collaborated on the co-writing and recording of the singles, “I Am Going Home” and “Like the Ocean”. She also had the privilege to work with Martin Nievera, a music icon in the Philippines.
In the preceding years, she has shared the stage with the international production “Ballet Revolución”, the international show “El bar de Buena Vista”, David Perrico Pop Strings Orchestra, and with the Salvadorian, Multi Gold and Platinum record winner, Alvaro Torres who described her as “a true and upcoming star!”. She is honored to have been featured in the production “Between the Lines” alongside Grammy Nominee Clint Holmes. To crown it all, she has shared the stage with Latin Grammy for Best alternative music winners Ozomatli, an also played the role of background vocals on the song “ La Bamba” for the band’s latest recording, “Non Stop Mexico-Jamaica”.
Noybel released her second album “Hamajang” in 2016, with the Hot Club of Las Vegas as a lead singer and one of the song writers. She has also shared her music and culture at the 2017 and 2018 concert “Jerry Lopez and Friends”, a concert held towards the National Latino Behavioral Health Association. Not only did the concert create an opportune moment to share the stage with her friend Jerry Lopez, a guitarist, vocalist, musical director and creator of “Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns” but also gave her a podium to captivate the audience with her song writing and piano playing skills. She also had the golden opportunity to play homage to her father’s work, “Déjame que te lleve”, a performance she did with Jerry Lopez that completly captivated the crowd.
Noybel hosted and performed her original music at the “Miss El Tiempo Nevada” in 2017 and 2018 pageant, powered by the “Las Vegas Review-Journal” and the “Southern Nevada's Largest Hispanic Newspaper El Tiempo”.
In 2017 and 2018 Gorgoy was also featured alongside Paul Shaffer and The Shaf-Shifters at the iconic Caesar Palace in Las Vegas. Paul Shaffer was David Letterman's musical director, band leader and sidekick on the entire run of both Late Night With David Letterman. During the Mini-Residency Gorgoy shared the stage with artists, song-writers and entertainers like Wyne Newton, Lamont Dozier, Valerie Sympson, Martha Wash, Bill Medley, Sonny Charles and many more.
In 2018 and 2019 Noybel performed with one of the crown jewels of Las Vegas for more than 30 years “Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns” led and founded by her friend Jerry Lopez. Gorgoy was also invited to share her music at the Luxury Las Vegas Magazine’s 15th aniversary celebration. She continues to perform with David Perrico Pop Strings Orchestra and her band The Hot Club of Las Vegas in venues like Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center, music festivals like “Django Vegas Music Festival” and Rose Rabbit Lie.
In 2018 Noybel Gorgoy released her very first single from her upcoming album called "Puros Sueños". A song dedicated to her father Noel Gorgoy, produced and written by her and co-produced by Mundo Jullierat. The single was accompanied by a music video directed by YadiSp.
In 2019 Noybel and her band members of The Hot Club of Las Vegas landed their first Recidency as a gypzy jazz group at The NoMad at Park MGM in Las Vegas, serving up the groove at NoMad Jazz Brunch.
At hand are endeavors to foster her musical skills by dint of her grandeur performances and adept music writing. She continues to make performances within Las Vegas, countrywide and around the world whilst creating a resonance with her audience.
